This is the question that everyone with an autistic child needs answering. There may well consist of a series of sub-groups, each sub-group with a slightly different bio-chemical profile.
It is already documented that the autistic spectrum continuum consists of a number of known causes ranging from metabolic diseases, infectious diseases, genetic causes to head injury all of which can manifest themselves in autism as the final common pathway.
